One thing that I see increasingly more on my server in Game of War: Fire Age is farming accounts. Some accounts are actively played secondary accounts while some are inactive cities that are constantly attacked for resources. I’ve seen entire alliances built around farming accounts, or as some people have termed them “support accounts” or “support alliances”. There are too many variables for me to claim which is better than the other. I think a lot of it depends on how much you play, how you like to play, and what your goals are. I have a total of three farming accounts. I’ll give you a snapshot of each one and then talk about how I they came about and why I’m stopping at three (with four accounts total).
Days Active: 94 days
Power: 6 million
Hero Level: 46
Details: This account was created as a secondary account I created out of boredom. I modeled it after my main account so initially it was setup exactly like that one. I played it like I would my main account. It has lots of Hospitals, a Prison, a Hall of War, and it had a balanced setup of Farms, Mines, Quarries, and Lumber Mills. I even spent like $20 for gold on it and gifted it a few things from my main account.
Recently, I converted it into a wood producing farm. I destroyed a few Farms to make room for more Lumber Mills. I respecced my hero and maxxed out Wood Production III (+347%). This account produces Wood at a rate of 225k/hour. It has a maximum capacity of 4.8 million Wood, so it will produce Wood till it reaches that number. If I leave this account alone for a day, I have almost 5 million without doing anything. This setup is a general model of what I want to do with the second and third account.
One thing that differs with this account though is that I have a lot of Tier 3 troops on this account. I will use these troops to farm resource nodes, when I have the time. I also use these troops to join in War Rallies and defend my alliance. So this account, for all intents and purposes, is an actively played account. The only difference is the buildings and Hero are specialized to produce lots of Wood.
Days Active: 28 days
Power: 1 million
Stronghold Level: 12 (upgrading to 13)
Hero Level: 35
Details: This was my third account I created. Initially I was creating it to be an inactive farming account. I built a lot less Hospitals, more Villas, and skipped out on building a Prison and Hall of War. After I started to see my Wood farm come into its own, I decided to convert it into a Stone farm. I reorganized my buildings and created a lot more Quarries. This account doesn’t produce nearly as much Stone as the other account produces Wood. I have a long way to go in leveling up the buildings and getting the Hero to a point where I can max out Stone Production III.
I have a moderate amount of Tier 2 troops, but I don’t focus on troops or trap production with this account. I use the resources it gets to upgrade the buildings and research, as opposed to creating more troops. Once I reach Tier 3 troops, I will be creating a lot of troops to start gathering for me. So I am kind of rushing this account to Stronghold Level 15 for that reason.
Days Active: 7 days
Power: 100 thousand
Stronghold Level: 9
Hero Level: 23
Details: This account is my final account. After I saw how well my Wood farm was doing and converted the other account to a Stone farm, I figured, “What the hell, lets make an Ore Farm?” This account was extremely focused on building Ore. It only has one Hospital, no Prison, no Hall of War, and a ton of Villas. I will focus the Hero’s gear on this account to improving Silver Production, while I focus the skills of the Hero on Ore Production. I don’t plan an actively creating a lot of troops with this account, as actively farming with multiple accounts is very, very time consuming.
I’ve had a small issue with the account being attacked a lot in the beginning, so its growth has been a lot slower than my other accounts. I think I’ve got that all ironed out now though and hopefully its growth will continue at a steady pace.
So that’s my setup for my farming accounts. I don’t claim it to be the best way to do something, or even a common way. It’s just my way. I don’t plan on creating any more accounts as this setup should get me all the resources I need once they are all built up. I have all of these accounts in the same alliance. It is necessary so I can trade resources back and forth. Due to that, I make sure that my Marketplace is always maximized on each account.
As with all things, these accounts are a work in progress. I may decide to change the ratio of Villas to Hospitals, whether I create a certain building (Prison, Hall of War, etc.), or a host of other things. I try to keep my eye on the big picture that these accounts support my main account. They’re not accounts I’ve created so I can play four accounts at once.
