I’ve had a lot of user submissions for Game of War: Fire Age that I’m trying to put together in a usable format for everyone. One that I received recently was a Tile Distance Calculator from [IXL] PK Typhoon. It can be found at www.gowmz.com. You can enter the location of one tile, the location of a second tile, and it gives you the exact distance (in tiles) between them.
What could you use this for? One option that immediately came to mind for me was if you were an Alliance leader and didn’t want a tight cluster, but you wanted people close. You could set a certain tile distance rule from your location. If you stated that everyone in your alliance needed to be within twenty-five tiles (for example) of your location, they could use this tool to determine that without you having to verify every single location before they move.
How does [IXL] use it? They’ve implemented a ‘thirty tiles from the forest edge rule’ in their kingdom. This is how they determined whether players are in compliance with that rule or not.
Check the tool out. If you have any other suggestions on how to use it, leave a comment below and give us your ideas.
